Message from Principal Graff

Mr. Graff with a quick message reminding parents about the Back to School event being held on Tuesday, August 11th from 4-6pm.

Please be sure your student's beginning of the year forms have been completed in order to pick up their schedule. Also, for 7th graders, please be sure your up to date shot records have been turned into the nurse.

Mr. Graff will be hosting two information sessions for incoming 6th grade parents & students.

Coach Templin will also hold a parent session for all 7th & 8th grade athletes at 5:45. That meeting will be followed by individual sports specific sessions.

We are excited to get the new year started and look forward to seeing everyone next week!

Good afternoon everyone. I'm Tim Graff. I'm the principal here at McDowell Middle School. I hope everybody had great summer. Hope you had time to spend with family and friends and enjoyed yourself but I really hope you're ready to come back to school. Get after it. Have a great school year. We have teachers coming back tomorrow. We have students coming back next week. We've got big things planned. We're ready for a good year. We hope you are too. I wanted to remind everyone that we do have a back to school event happening next week on Tuesday, that's August 11th that's from 4:00 to 6:00. At that time families and students can join us on campus if they have completed online forms, and for incoming 7th graders, if you have turned in updated shot records. If both of those things have been taken care of for 7 grade and for 6 and 8 if you've got the online forms complete when you join us, you can pick up your student's schedule, you can walk campus, meet some of the teachers and help your students start getting their head wrapped around what this year is going to look like so we encourage you to join us. We look forward to seeing you please do come that day. We will have some sessions set up. Some time set up in the gym where parents of incoming sixth grade students can come join me. I can give you some things you might want to know about some things that you might want to help your sixth grade student think about as they transition from Woolls into McDowell also just answer your questions right be ready to to talk to you and answer any questions or address any concerns that you might have so please find a time to join us in the gym when you join us during the back to school event. Also, at 5:45, there will be a meeting for all of the parents of our 7th and 8th grade athletes Coach Templin will be here he will lead that meeting. One big general meeting at 5:45 and then there will be breakout sessions for individual sports where the coaches for each sport can talk to the parents of the students that are involved in those Sports so please join us for that as well. Again August 11th 4 to 6 p.m. Please make sure your online forms are taken care of and shot records have been updated for the incoming 7th graders. Hope to see you there.
